AOC responds to those who label her radical

During an Instagram Live, in which Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was cooking and answering questions about Coronavirus relief negotiations in Congress, she said she has been called radical for supporting a livable minimum wage and wanting to pass a relief measure without strings attached.

Republican politicians love to talk about the "War On Christmas." The fact that they are holding back on stimulus just shows how little they actually care about Christmas. So many businesses rely on the money they generate this time of year and stimulus checks would especially benefit small businesses that they pretend to care so much about.

I don't really have a dog in this fight, but the consequences of the policy that is made and the norm that is set in the US, does effect what happens in the rest of the world.
It needs to change. That's not radical, but a necessity for the US to remain a member of the civilized world.
(Not changing, will most likely give rise to actual left wing radicals like in the past in Europe. So change to support social programs is actually a smart move for conservatives, which they have known since the second Wold War and Cold War, but somehow forgot after the Soviet Union fell)

Trump, despite all his faults, has showed what kind of pressure the Republicans are susceptable for, and how the Republicans use the wishes of Democrats as a weakness they get to exploit fot the achievement of goals for their donors. Unfortunately unless the Republicans, their donors, and their voters are pressured in the same psychopathic terrorizing way in the way Trump does, these Republicans won't do anything positive fot the people. I'm hoping that consequences of their choices may make them rethink their behaviour. Don't worry about the labels, you are no where near radical. Your ideas are pretty much normal ( sometimes even relatively conservative ) in the rest of the western world.

This is not the only hard criticism on America, there is more. It's sad that the former frontrunner of prosperity and the promised land for anyone looking for a better future, now has to catch up with the rest of the Western world. Soon America won't have to worry about high immigrationnumers that much anymore. Instead the question will be how to make it interesting for the people America needs to go to the USA. Other places, such as Europe, Australia, and New Zealand are much more desirable at this point.

I only watched 8 minutes in, but I wanted to make a comment. I'm a Libertarian which is on the other side of the political spectrum as this representative. She kind of made it sound like people on the right support creating legislation to prevent workers from filing lawsuit against their employees about COVID. I would say about zero percentage of Libertarians would want this and not all Republicans would either. If an employee has been harmed by an employer, it should be their right to file a lawsuit and take it to court. Also, not having legislation in this regard, can benefit employees, as it will help to keep employers mindful of their practices during the pandemic. Generally, the less government intervention in creating new regulations, the better off we all are.
