Male abuse is not always talked about it is sad. People need to be more aware. There are both Male and Female victims.

Male Abuse is super sad - with a big factor being the lack of attention drawn to it, along with the inate prejudice and lack of belief in regards to men specifically. IT’S NEVER EMBARRASSING TO ADMIT TO ABUSE (no matter your genders, sex, or any factor for that matter) - REACH OUT ❤

I was in a similar situation. My parents always taught me to never hit a woman and I took that to heart. My ex got into heavy drug use and would go into crazy fits of rage and attack me and she'd always apologize afterwards. When I eventually had to defend myself because she had me backed up in the corner of our bedroom hitting me in the face with a lamp she called the police on me. Only by the grace of God was I spared because both my family and her family and friends all knew how she would behave and the case was dropped due to their testimonies.

Richard not feeling safe to talk about it is sad. I'm a woman, but hearing about how male abuse victims aren't taken seriously and some people even go so far as to blame them "Oh well you must've done something." Is concerning. I've been questioned when dealing with creepy men and seeing men go through that is sad.

Anyone whose abused for a long period looses their identity, their confidence and love for themselves. I watched a friend go though this and it was heartbreaking. All you can do is to let them know you're there and ready when they're ready to make that move.
