Actually I think the reason moon breathing couldn't find a successor is because after sun breathing it's the most balanced breath, you can really see in the first 6 forms, some use range like mitsuri love breathing, some use quick disruption techniques, some use pure offense like wind, while the second form is a more defensive stance
Very few people are special like michikatsu who can perform all these stances with the same cadence
