There's no such thing as DOT approved on Farm land. You can even be 8 years old and operate a motor vehicle

The truck is called HI- LUX.
Not He-Lux .
In the 70's, the US version was the same as the rest of the world & it was called the Toyota HI-LUX

The funniest part is that Hi-lux probably has 800k miles on its original motor. 😂

This is in Thailand. Pickups are extremly popular there, because they are cheap, as many companies produce in the country (between 15 and 25 k usd). Pickups for heavy loads are heavily customized. Axles, engine, bigger turbo, the diesel pump is turned up to 11, the springs, the frame... And yes, this truck will drive like that on a public highway.

I see that every day, all day long here in Thailand. 4 cylinder turbo diesel is all they use. And yes, I often see them lying on their side in a ditch.

First video is of a hilux, second is a isuzu dmax, 2 different trucks. And for all the ford ranger comments, that dmax is stock and more reliable than anything ever made in the US.

The most popular pickup truck in Thailand is Isuzu D-Max, Toyota hilux. For transportation heavy load, they will modify suspension system such as leaf spring (add more = moreload capacity), shock absorber (reduce sway), axle, tires, wheel, chassis, and ABS (upgrade for support heavy load), etc.

The upgrade has many steps 1.5, 2, 2.5, ... untill 5 ton, depending on the owner's want to carry

All of the modifications must have certificates from the engineer before getting to the road.

DOT? This kid definitely was the one who raised his hand to ask about homework.

The fact people think more shocks and more leaves on a suspension mean more carrying capacity is crazy. That truck is overworking without looking overworked. The axles are the load rating not the suspension.

That last car is definitely an Isuzu D or KB something 😂

That's normal in Thailand.
And super reliable.
That's also a Mitsubishi D-Max... diesel.

The question is, why even use suspension? Just solid mount the axle. The tires flex more than the suspension.

The blue shocks add 20hp each. Window stickers are worth an additional 5hp.

You could stack at least 20 feet higher and be good to go.
