A sneak-peak into my canvas page for my elementary artists. Canvas is not the easiest platform to manage or navigate for elementary students or even teachers for that matter. While this video shows you my canvas basics, I have some other advice for other art teachers or specials teachers who are using canvas as their online platform:
1. K.I.S.S. = Keep It Super Simple
2. Be clear, concise, and consistent
3. Use visuals of images and videos - younger students will NOT read paragraphs of text
4. Make sure your file sizes are small and easy to load. An image should not exceed 1000 pixels and a video should not be over 200 MB.
5. Utilize the underline, bold, and color change of important instructions
6. Use tables/grids to layout your content
7. Make your page as easy to navigate as possible and declutter all the extra.
