Remembering a person's name & saying it is a great gift you can give them & costs nothing. Most of what we do is transactional & anonymous, so most people don't know & don't want to know the name of the person right in front of them even if they are wearing a name tag. It's easy to remember the name of a person we are attracted to, but harder when we have nothing to gain. I meet about 15 new people each day in my job & learn their name & use it in conversation if possible. You should see the way some people's eyes light up that "wow I am more than a drone NPC performing a service for you" because although they serve 100 people a day they are anonymous to most.

Interestingly enough, I was recently told to stop asking people questions about their lives. And unfortunately it made it more clear how rare it is for people to ask questions and if they do ask questions they don’t make sense based on the level of the relationship. A genuine curiosity about the depth of a soul is correlated to genuine love and compassion towards that soul

Bro, these questions are so awkward. They make great talking points for a influencer, but for real humans having real conversations, you'd look like a weirdo.

Imagine your coworker sitting next to suddenly going, "what's your favorite thing about you?" You'd be like "Wtf, are you on something?", not "Hmm, let me think"
