Another minor point to consider with options/RSU's when considering the whole package is your taxes while the value can be really high and while not much can be done around tax but its ofern much lower once the tax man has taken his share.

Great video! I think evaluating private companies offers should be looked the same way as investing in stocks: are you into ETF or big stock purchase? If you were at FAANG, would you sell right after vest or keep the stock? Would you invest your money in the startup? Because it's what you are doing by joining a private company compared to a public one. Considering all these risks, from a financial pov I think one should join early stages startup or join mature private companies only if they see themselves at the company for a very long period. That way at least you are compensating the risks with a huge upside.

Great content but way too many plugs for my taste, it would be the equivalent of reading an article where every word is hyperlinked. This is just my opinion though, I’m sure it works great, but it’s a heads up that quite a bit of friction greats created and the sidetracks steer the conversation away from the core subject matter. Might wanna pick and choose max 2 plugs per 11 minutes of content, seems like a good digestible rule for both yourself and the viewer.
