Might be a joke but in South Asian culture where I come from this practise is really common and this concept does not sit right with me for some reason. Some women are beaten, killed for giving birth to a girl and sometimes the babies are killed too

When i was about 6 years old i remember my mom being on the phone and i overheard her telling someone about her kids (3-4 at the time) she told them about my older brother and sister and it was all rainbows and sunshine then when she was telling them about me she said " she was supposed to be a boy, i only had her because (my older brother) wanted a little brother" I've never been the same since, if anything that was the thing that made me start seeing the differences in how she's treated me vs the rest of my siblings.

"Self projection" is when you project feelings, desires, or qualities onto someone else due to your own experiences.
Personally, I only have one sister, and I can't relate to this particular situation, I'm just sympathizing with the girls because of the comment made in the video. They clearly state that they tried as many times as they had to, to get a boy. And if you really believe that out of all of those girls, not a single one feels bad about the fact that they were just another number till the boy, then your common sense isn't functioning.

Ik everyone’s talking abt the girls not being appreciated but can we talk about the fact there’s no physical way to properly raise this many children. Like most parents can barely properly raise and take care of two kids. Like… disregarding the financial side. Like mentally and emotionally there’s no way these kids are getting their needs met.
