You can R flash with Garen, just like Darius can R flash. Stride can cancel your R animation(I guess).

Bro didn't even cancel it, it was buffered. (You see the animation go off, it's just super fast and slightly delayed due to attack speed) I believe it was q, e and r while eing, procing the stride during e (creates a window of standing neutral) is prob what buffered the R.

If you q a target then e instantly and cancel it with your r it allows to cancel r animation with an auto attack if fast enough

To all Garen players I suggest doing Q - E - E2 (before E duration ends) - auto - then ult. Always buffer the ult when you press auto so that Auto - ult WILL always connect. This combo is good if you want to add extra damage if the all in is not enough.

I do think Garen would be EVEN stronger and better especially with TRIFORCE if he has unique mechanic similar with Jax. Jax can proc 2 sheens using 1 E. By pressing E you can activate 1st sheen, pressing E2 later on the duration will trigger 2nd Sheen.
I wish Riot would change this so that Garen will be more stronger lol.

Ok I'm reading comments and everyone is guessing, but nobody actually knows how's it done. Here it is:

You can only cancel R animation after Q and no other way, which means it doesn't do much since the target is silenced and the auto that cancels it doesn't deal dmg.
It just looks fancy.

It goes like this:

Q then auto + ult at the same time. That's it. That will trigger it. Keep in mind you have to ult exactly as you buffer the next auto.

It has nothing to do with E or Stridebreaker, but you can weave in a short E + Stride and then auto+ult, like Alois did here.

You can cancel E with R, is that simple.

i was able to recreate this in practice tool. Basically for it to work you have to attack with the enhanced Q auto, then E and R immediately when you start spinning (this will disable your E and could make you lose a lot of damage in a real game situation). At this point, garen's animation will bug and you can kinda manipulate what happens. If you repeatedly click on the target, garen will repeat the beginning of his auto animation over and over until he's able to attack again. If you click only once or click away to move, an entire auto animation can happen but that one auto will deal no damage. You can kinda see this scenario in the clip, he actually goes through a quick auto animation after the ult but it does no damage.

Note that there doesn't seem to be any kind of gameplay impact for doing this combo, except that the animations are very weird and could surprise a few opponents in specific scenarios (fiora W or zhonyas for example) but you will have to cancel all your E damage to do it.

I once saw a streamer back in the days that could cancel Q auto animation (basically with statikk he could proc both the Q silence + statikk bolt just standing near a minion). Still don't know how to do it
