Why Do You Draw?

Why do we create art? what are your reasons for doing so?

As a child i had a strong passion to draw. I loved it. But i grew from it. I spend some years strugging with addiction, but since being sober i have rediscovered my love for drawing. The only problem is i feel i have lost my imagination. I pick up a pencil and my mind goes blank. 😢

I draw because it's calming and something I can just sit and focus on for hours. I also like turning nothing into something.

I have war in my head by pstd, and drawing empty that.. its makes me calm and relax, but thats hard to explain.. no war in my head because of a war.. but it feels like a war in my head sometimes. And when im drawing its gone

All the AI stuff going on really forced me to think about this more, and honestly I'm still not sure I fully know the answer to that question.
But one thing I know for sure, it can't just be the end result, otherwise I would be more interested in generative AI.
I think there are just kids that enjoy building sand castles, and there are those that like to kick them down. I was always more into building them.
