Off topic, but I preordered at midnight when iPhone 5 was released but I still haven't gotten a shipment notification even though it said it would be sent to me by Friday. When I log in to apple store it still says "Preparing for Shipment"... have your guys' phones shipped?

question: if you send a text or receive a text for some reason (say, one of you didnt have data) when you typically imessage that person, will that text be synced as well?

If you're talking about adding your iPhone to Messages, pick up your iPhone. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > then tap Apple ID. Now tap Sign Out. Then tap Use Your Apple ID for iMessage. Then log back in. Then tap Next. You should start receiving alerts on your phone and mac. Go to Messages on your computer. Go to Preferences, then the Accounts tab. Your phone number should be listed there under "You can be reached for messages at:" Let me know if this works.

@Daloopster After updating, logout from Facebook and login again. After that, pop ups a window and that's it!

Wait so you won't have to use your e-mail address anymore for iMessage? You can use your real number?? How do I set this up!?!?

in the last version, if you imessage from the computer and then your phone, the recipient usually receives the messages from what appears as two "different senders." Does this update solve this problem with the phone number synching solution at the end of the video?

I have 10.8.2 and iOS 6 and synced my iPhone to iTunes but messages isn't hooked up to my number and I can only add emails. I have iCloud set up and everything.
