One Last Song - [original piano composition]

This piece is dedicated to my fans, who were supporting me throughout the past 4 years.

No matter how often I fell down in an abyss of despair, demotivation or depression, I still returned back to the piano, making things even better than before.
Because I want to reach the people around the world, who loves anime, and communicate with them in a universal language, that every human can understand. And that's music.

Also, don't worry! It definitely won't be my "last song", I just decided to name it like that. ;)

Hope you enjoyed this small piano composition of me.

I'm glad you're back on your feet again Animenz :) When I first saw the title "One Last Song" in your Facebook post, I was so afraid it was your farewell post to us :o But I'm glad it isn't :') Can anyone imagine a Youtube without Animenz in it? More specifically, an anime piano community without Animenz in it.. :O :O That would be devastating & weird.

This piece is so beautiful. The background pictures and video editing compliments it well. Welcome back Animenz! :D P.S. And thank you for everything you've done for us too :)

The beginning was strongly reminiscent of Liszt's Liebestraum No. 3, and I like it.

I know this may not sound quite legitimate coming from some random YouTuber, but here's what I felt with this video:

It's about 10:15 in the evening here, in my college dorm. I have some classes to go to tomorrow, so I should probably be going to bed. However, I just felt like watching one, maybe two more videos before heading off, as if they're would be something really funny or cool to watch. I see this video and I start to worry, (just as many of you guys did) because of the title. I've been a subscriber ever since he played the Nichijou ending, ZZZ, so seeing something like that was quite a surprise. I clicked without hesitation, and I everything sort of went blank... As if what came after just washed everything that was previously going on.
The television was on at the time, which was promptly turned off so that the music may be given my full attention, and without quite realizing it at the time, I was gradually increasing the volume of my headphones. And though it was getting louder and louder, I still felt like I was at the field shown on screen, with the quiet tune singing its song for my ears, and the sunset performing its dance for my eyes.
And you know what? I silently began to cry. No, not simply a Single Tear, but many. Not Tears of Manliness, Tears of Happiness, or even Sadness. Rather, It's just a Mish-Mash Hot Mess of Emotion.
I'm overcome with worry over how I'm going to get good enough grades to maintain a decent GPA for scholarships I need for college; I'm overcome with sadness over not being with my friends and family for so long, despite coming home for weekends and holidays; I'm overcome from the fatigue of having to balance school work and working throughout the week; I'm....just overcome, you know?  Despite all that... I listen to this song...And again....And again...I listen to it four times in a row, alone in my room, until I just stop and get ready for bed.
So I guess I just wanted to say... Thanks, Animenz. This song was a really good release of what I've been feeling this past few weeks. If I ever get around to playing piano again, this song would definitely make my list of songs to try out. I know this can't be the end, for you, me, or anyone listening. May it be a new be some kind of new beginning...A fresh start, yeah? Alright, I really do have to go to bed, now... So yeah.

Animenz.. I would like to share a story with you, and I do hope you read YouTube comments occasionally . I type this while listening to this beautiful composition of yours over and over again. I have been a pianist for 10 years now, and the last few years have been filled with self pity, depression, and a lack of wanting to really anything. However, soon enough that all changed quite rapidly.

After becoming interested in Attack on Titan last October of my own devices I fell in love with its music, and from a recommendation of a fellow musician I was directed here to your channel to listen to the piano duet with you and Tehishter. I had never, ever, seen a piano played so well, so aggressively, so... I guess the word I am looking for is passionately. That passion struck deep with me. It was like... you loved the music you played, you loved creating the feelings you wanted in people by your music when words could not suffice to give it justice. This emotion you placed in me... touched my heart. It forced me to consider that, if I was good enough, if I kept practicing and kept making music for the love I had once had simply doing so, I could instill the same emotions in others as you had done in me.

Skip forward 5 months, 13 brand new piano pieces learned, countless others to be tried, failed, tried again, and learned and you have where I am at now. I have people calling me at night, requesting me to play the piano for them over Skype because they had a bad day, and my music, instills happiness into them because as I was told once by a dear friend who has since passed away: "I'm listening to you, not the music. You're playing your heart, not the notes."

As it stands now, I am learning two of your pieces (Wiosna from Katawa Shouo and Kibou no Hana from Kotoura-san [which has become one of my favorite anime]), and when I get even better over the years to come, I want to become as good as you are, and when I attain that level, I will strive to become even better than that as you have shown me that a little perseverance can do so many things.

I will always remember you Animenz as my best friend, not that I have ever met, or may ever meet you, but your music speaks right to my heart and tells me everything is alright, that I am not worthless, that I can make others happy, and that lastly... I have a talent I need to use that can make myself happy as well.

I'm sorry it was so long, but if you read this, I hope you understand where I am coming from. Thank you, for everything.

Animenz, I know you might not read this comment but, I just want you to know this.

I found your channel about a year ago, along with your rival's Theishter's channel. Your music has made my mood change back into joy, no matter how bad my day was. I listen to your music while I draw and sometimes I just get random inspiration from your music. I'm planning to become an Author and Illustrator. I'm currently in eighth grade right now and the struggles of junior high school make it very hard for me to relax easily like I used to when I was in elementary school. However, your music helps me relax after a rough seven hour lasting school day. If I ever can become famous or at least known as an author, I just might write a story about you and how your music has changed my life. In behalf of all of the one million point three subscribers and the people your music has affected, I wanted to say....

Thank you.

If you feel despair
If you feel sadness
Whatever emotion you want to share
Music is there to help you express

Our heart is with you
Our emotions too
Share with us your pain
It'll relieve, break the chain

Don't worry, we'll always be there
Throughout your life, your despair
Your music share your thoughts
Your music's all of us, it's lots

Don't give up, for you and for us
Believe in your music, you must
Don't give up, we trust
Your music shall reach everything, even dust.

I haven't known about you for to long, but ever since I started listening to your music it motivated me to continue playing the piano no matter how much I messed up. I am truly glad that I found out.

Animenz, I love you and your piano playing. You are an inspiration to me and I'm sure to many others as well. I can only hope to be able to play  at a fraction of your skill level. Please, never stop playing piano. If you ever doubt yourself, just remember that all of us believe in you and will support you. Thanks for sharing your great music with us and let us fear the day of your true 'one last song'. Animenz, you rock!!!

This is a lot different from your normal anime song transcriptions, in a good way too. Usually you are dazzling us with your amazing right hand techniques with flourishes up and down the keyboard. But in this you've focused on a calm, but deep melody.

Overall, I give it a score of "Pretty dang baller"

Thank us? You're the one making these amazing videos. If anything, you should be the one receiving the thanks. So on that note, thank you, Animenz, for continuing to do what you do, and let's hope that you'll continue to be able to do so for as long as you can.
