Ran, I totally agree with you,
I don't keep an online portfolio as well. I do have a PDF version that I send sometimes, to potential clients after a meeting if they ask me...

Hi. Just have a quick question. I have a client who was referred to me whom I hear pays well.

They have been stalling and not taking my calls and emails. Should I move on and forget about them or is there something I should do about it?

Ran I agree with a lot of what you said regarding keeping people happy and the power of a good referral. I do have to say, however, that I've actually gotten quite a bit of work by people who found me on Dribbble or even Linkedin. Some of those have been quite extensive, lucrative and interesting. So while I wouldn't obsess too much about my portfolio at this stage, I do find value (and returns) is sharing my previous work or passion projects.
