VS Code is just so convenient, with extensions, theming, built in EMMET. It will be hard to get me to use something else :/

Lets hope GTK5 performance improves drastically while also stopping trying to draw everything when not needed. Same with issue with large data set combo boxes. Slow as the molasses.

50 MB file:
gedit: 15 seconds load time, the background even goes from blue to black because it can't cope well .
vi: Blink of an eye, .
kate in KDE: blink of an eye, very impressive performance for a gui text editor.

I think there is room for improvement as one can see. More than a little bit.

i dont like how the menus in gtk4 go over the window borders. i really like the self containedness of the current look.

Having all preferences in one scrolled window is much nicer and I think all preferences like that should have search with revealer.
btw, did you see the official port guide documentation for extensions? It would be nice if you do a video about that so more extension developers see that.
The guide took 50 days to get finished :p

Even for gnome 3.38, a lot of my apps doesn't support any of the themes and the text contrast is just very low

i tried gnome40 on fedora beta. i noticed that in gnome maps you cannot change the units of measure to the european ones. only us ones are working.

I'm worried that gedit will get replace in the near future, and won't be smoothly supported anymore.
If that's gonna happen, I really really really hope that the new one won't mess up the shortcuts.

I'm really tired of re-learning how to do things because someone want to change then for the very same of changing them! (Like the horizontal scroll in overview replacing the vertical scroll...)

Has Totem gotten any love? GTK3 version had a bad interface and made me stop using it
