There was a stampede late one evening at the National Stadium when ticket (only available there) counters opened.
I was caught in that stampede.

After that incident, ticket sales were relocated to various stadiums around Singapore.
Tickets are sold out within an hour after counters were opened.
At 4am my friends and I were still going around various locations in Singapore stadiums trying to buy the tickets, but to no avail.
All tickets were completely sold out.

Stadium was packed to capacity with 70, 000 spectators many gate crashed.
All ‘walking steps’ in the stadium were packed with people.
That’s how crazy Singaporean were at that time towards football.
