I love how the nuke loading rack at 2:25 makes that gimme, gimme, gimme motion.

Love the ratcheting sounds when Cain moves certain parts, the "whirr" of satisfaction he feels when he gets his nuke high, the otherworldly sound of the electrical discharges after his CPU/brain is destroyed. Classic.

1:57 Anyone else noticed that Robo-Kane stooped down at the sight of Nuke and even sounded like "Whoa..." in a mechanical way as if he was mesmerised by it.

That digital screaming at the end was accurately terrifying.

I find it amazing this entire scene was done with practical effects and stop motion. ZERO CGI! Almost 40 years later and it still holds up!

1:05 That scar in Robocop helmet looks so freaking cool

The stop motion adds so much to this scene because it gives the impression that Kane is awkwardly stumbling around and his new body which he is not used to moving around in 😮

2:49 the transition to stop motion Robocop here is amazingly well done

Love that line "of course there won't be any trouble from the dead ones", it's so reminiscent of the original film.

I love Johnson... "So many dead and wounded... of course we won't have any trouble from the dead ones."

As a robot doctor, I can confirm that this is 100% accurate.

The robot brain is notoriously sensitive to being ripped out and smashed on the pavement.

Considering we saw how other humans reacted to being in the failed Robocop shells, just seeing how long it takes Cain's brain to actually DIE and go offline is some new kind of bodyhorror.

You gotta give credit to OCP engineering. After having a multi-ton APC slam him into a reinforced concrete wall, Cain isn't even scratched. Even those exposed waist hydraulics are in perfectly fine shape.

@3:47 the eye bulge scene from Kane still creeps me out as an adult! 😂😂

Let's not forget Murphy just flexing by doing a plank while Kain is agonizing

What I love about the film Robocop are the realistic design-function relationship in the details of Robocop's body, for example the hydraulics on his legs and neck, the hidden gun holster in this thigh. It's not just a science fiction but sets possibilities in engineering and technologies. Add to this FX the cool targeting system in his visor...which is similar to today's weapon techs.
