This is nice and all, but it doesn't actually "crop" anything out. All it does is add black over where the rest of the video would be. It would be nice if it would actually crop it.

It doesn't add a black box like everyone is saying, it adds a TRANSPARENT layer mask that you can pull in from all sides. Worked perfectly for what I needed, Thanks man like'd and sub'd

It just adds black. It doesn't crop anything.

Come on. This is not "crop". This is transition "crop". Cropping a video means you cut out a smaller piece of a video, trim the edges. Usage of transition crop is rarely used.

Hey I have a question and answers for all of you asking about the "transition" effect. You right click the button that shows up next to your right, bottom etc options and change it to "constant". That will make it so its a constant crop effect throughout the video. My question is how do you change the dimensions of the video to the cropped area when you export it? From what I can tell, the crop feature just kinda adds blank (black) space to a video, but doesn't change the actual dimensions.

I want to save the area that I cropped around and nothing else. Now the saved video shows a large black background around the spot that I cropped. How do I get rid of this background?

Crop doesn't seem to crop the entire video. It acts as a TRANSITION rather than an EFFECT - it takes the entire length of the clip to go from full size to cropped size. I was expecting to just focus on the area of interest and eliminate everything else.

I wanted to remove a top part of the video, but that crop effect just descended over the duration of the video, until it was gone at the end of the video.

I have a question, When I crop, it takes a bit of time for the crop to take effect, like a transisrion crop. how can I have it where it's always cropped

this alone makes openShot useless. This "cropping" is ridiculous. I also can't find anything for reducing grain / video noise. super lame
