Can Nepal still reach the Super 8 round of the T20 World Cup 2024 after washout against Sri Lanka?

With one point in two matches, Nepal are still mathematically alive in the Super 8 race. If they win both their remaining matches, against South Africa and Bangladesh, they will reach five points and they will have to hope that the Netherlands, who have two points in two games, don’t reach six points.

If Nepal lose one of their remaining two matches, they will be out of the tournament. Expecting them to beat even one of South Africa or Bangladesh is a bit too much. Sri Lanka, who have one point in three fixtures, are all but out of the race to the next round and are only mathematically alive.
