But then on the other hand, we know JD Vance as the author of Hillbilly Elegy, someone who was supposedly this interpreter of Rust Belt America. So it's someone who was a never-Trumper back in 2016. He actually made a claim to fame based on trying to explain why is it that people who live in rural America or the industrialised parts of Midwest and so on, why they felt this sense of alienation from what was going on on the coasts, right? He explained his experience, going to Yale Law School. How he had this innate sense of he didn't belong there, that, again, some of these issues of even structural inequality playing into his explanation of the divide between the coastal elites and people who live in the middle of America.
