Having ADHD and being a teen at the time, I forgot about a To-go cup filled with hot chocolate (in the guest room I used to paint in) for like 1-2 weeks, and when I finally got to cleaning the whole lid was COVERED in vinegar fly larvae.
It gave me such a reality check that I stopped bringing up any food or beverage right there and then. Except for water of course. I never thought I'd get to that point and so was naively just assuming I was in the clear even though I regularly kept food in my room until it grew actual fur, and had cups of hot chocolate coagulate into a genuine solid.
There was just something about the fly eggs that did it for me. It shook me to the core, to the point that as I was frantically trying to clean the lid before putting it into the washer I just when my mum walked in because I thought they were hatching.

I know it's gross, but for some reason I needed to have that happen, because I am mortified of bringing food up that I won't bring down again. Like I'll still struggle with keeping the clothes off the floor and a tidy desk, but the dishes have been reduced SIGNIFICANTLY as I now have only slipped once with bringing up food since it happened. And had I not been searching for something important that had me literally throwing everything onto the floor, I would have had a pretty decent record of clean room without clutter!

Spring cleaning my whole apartment right now! It's been a couple of months since I've done a deep clean, so this is probably gonna take me quite a while 😅😬 it's 4:03pm right now, I'll edit this with the time I'm finished to see how long it takes lol happy cleaning everyone ♡
EDIT: so I'm currently on day 3 of cleaning 😅 that first day, I finished around midnight and was able to deep clean my bathroom, bedroom, and part of the living room. Yesterday (day 2) I cleaned the rest of the living room for about 6 hours. Now today is day 3 and I'm working on the final room, the kitchen! I'll edit again with the time I finish tonight lol (it's currently 11:14am)

This type of music helps me so much because everything I do feels like I'm climbing a mountain wether it's taking the trash out to cleaning my room it stresses me out. Everything I do I can't handle so this helps me relax and I've used it as a coping skill because I'm dealing with lots of things right now.
