I Coded with React for a Year

I coded with React for about a year or so. Here's an incredibly disorganized brain dump of my thoughts on it.

Don't know why you'd want to follow me on other socials. I don't even post. But here you go.

I've been writing React for a little over a year now and completely agree with your points. It is annoying that there are no universal standards for project structure. Component based structure makes the most sense. I split mine into shared components, assets, pages, and hooks

You mention that your stuff isn't serious enough for TS. Speaking from personal experience I've found TS to be the best way to level up at JS. The type checking and bringing in things like interfaces lead to application design and coding techniques which acclerated my understanding of JS internals and behaviour.

the amount of times i tangent… this is just how my brain works. i was born this way... a ramblin' man some might say.

Like, I go from cba and talk about that, then to virtual dom, then later declarative ui which all ties back in to those two and shows examples of how vanilla js has to manually manipulate the dom whereas with declarative ui you just say the final state and react handles the manipulation through the virtual dom... anyway. This was a fun one to record lol hope y'all enjoyed it. Let me know what I got right or if I got something wrong or missed something you find valuable when using react. We're all here to learn and build and make things! Let's help each other as much as possible.

My takes
- try out vue js it's a bit different from the others and ez 2 learn
- try out tailwind for styling its amazing
- typescript is something you gotta get used 2 in the beginning it feels like extra hoops to jump through

I am a newbie developer and have a strong dislike for React! 😂Like it almost made me quit programming! I find it confusing and unreasonably cumbersome! Definitely looking to learn a different front end framework!
