At the outskirts of The Hague (Ypenburg) there is a huuge Amazing Oriental (like, hypermarket size) which, apart from having an enormous array of products, has fresh meat and fresh fish counters that serve great food on the go... definitely worth a visit if you're a fan!

You guys are always so generous with the stroopwafels. Love the positive vibes

You have to put the bao bun/bapao in the microwave with the packaging. Then it will steam and not get hard or dry.

I don't know if every place has it, but the Groningen store has a take-away restaurant built in. There's amazing fried foods, snacks, meals and sandwiches.

I'm in love with their Bara with Bakkeljauw. Fried fish in a fried bun with pickles and spicy sweet mustard sauce. 10/10 🤤

Things I buy at Amazing Oriental: from the vegetable section: hot chile peppers, paksoi/bokchoi, daikon, cilantro, plastic bags of kimchi. From the noodle section, a diversity of ramen, glass rice noodle, mi-fang, soba and udon noodles. From the drinks section: Sake. Then there are some good soy sauces to be had (both light and dark) and Thai Fish Sauce. Oh, and from the Korean section: Gochujang. Plus, they have nice large bottles of Tabasco and an interesting selection of teas, too.

We had Koreans living in our hotel for a year while they were rotating squads on offshore drilling platforms. We had to give them a seperate kitchen so they wouldn't scare away our guests with the smell of their food even though it tasted amazing. They left us a very expensive fridge when they went back home, ten years later it still smells like kimchi

I've been walking past an Amazing Oriental building near my house for years. Turned out to be the company's head office in Hoofddorp. I regularly visit the beautiful location in Hoofddorp center to buy some food. Delicious stuff there!

Lemper is my favorite food ❤ I’m Indonesian so I grew up eating it and my aunt makes them herself, which are so good! My favorite Indonesian snacks/desserts & drinks I would recommend are Dadar Gulung, Wadjik, Tjendol, Es Kelapa Muda, Onde Onde, Klepon & Kue Lapis. If you have a sweet tooth like me I can guarantee you’ll like them! Also a tip: the smaller tokos that don’t look like much usually have the best homemade food! Way better than Amazing Oriental! Though I don’t dislike Amazing Oriental (I love their Chicken Katsu sandwich!), nothing beats those small tokos that make everything fresh.

There's these cans of roasted young coconut water with bits of coconut in it. I'm not a coconut fan but that's one of my alltime favorite drinks!

I love Buldak noodles, usually get the regular spicy one myself. What you should really give a try, is adding one or two slices of hamburger cheese (basically Kraft singles, we just don’t have Kraft in NL) and it adds that creaminess to the next level! And it takes the edge off of the spice too 😊

OMG! This afternoon I was in a Albert Hein xxl and I while I was strolling through the isles I noticed that I rated the various products with a number of stroopwafels. Your buncharted channel is catchy.

Two must haves from the toko for me are gochujang and miso. Gochujang is a Korean chili paste which you can keep almost endlessly in the fridge and is amazing to chuck into all kinds of food and marinades, or to make for example a noodle dish with. Miso is a Japanese soy bean paste. It's great in Japanese / east Asian cooking, but also amazing in a beurre blanc, mashed potatoes, etc.

There are so many brands and flavors of sambal, bumbu and sayur at Amazing and the toko's. Maby it is an idea to compare them in one of your upcoming videos. Looking forward to it. Your videos are very educational and fun and an in-depth guide to the food of the locals and sights of the Netherlands. I keep on watching! Perhaps it's also an idea to make trips to Belgium and Limburg, if you haven't already done so?

I was at Amazing Oriental yesterday to buy vegetables. Pakchoi and taugé (soybean sprouts) are much cheaper than at Albert Heijn's.

AH also has imported canned kimchi. I often use that for ramyeon, also bought at AH. They've got some very nice products imported from South Korea. Of course Amazing Oriental has way more.

I also make my own sometimes.

The only buldak noodle flavor I like better than the carbonara one is the curry one, but I only found it once (I think it was at Xenos) in store and never found it again. I cannot use the whole sauce packet, tho. Way too spicy for me, 🤣. I usually save up leftovers and use it in my pasta or bami/nasi dishes.
