If owner is worried about these belts, best to do more frequent oil changes (using the correct oil spec and good filter!!!). Oil problems will kill the belts, just like for a chain drive system.

This has not aged well pure tech and eco boost engines letting go all over the place, the pure tech in under 25, 000 miles and five years, eco boost 60, 000 miles. with a repair cost exceeding the value of the car. Two eco boost and one pure tech sitting outside our place. All have been serviced on the dot with the correct dealer oil. DO NOT BUY these engines. The fact is a duplex chain could have been fitted in the same space and the engine would have been good for 200, 000 miles but no, The trade in value or resale value on a 6 year or 60000 mile car is negligable as everyone now knows they are a time bomb or an expensive precautionary fix.
