Tammy, congratulations on a lot of bingos on the first card and a great start for the second😊. In 2004 my library started a book club. I joined. The librarian picked the first book as we needed something to talk about the first meeting. Then again because we were just starting out she brought a list of possibilities we could see if you wanted to read and discuss. Well, they all decided we needed a classic. The picked Anna Karenina😮. I had never heard of it! So I was excited to try something new and got the book and one weekend I sat down to read it and looked at the page of characters. I thought WHOA, I need pen and paper. But alas I got to chapter 2 and dnf’d it🥴. I was devastated as book clubs were knew to me and already I hated, yes hated the second book of the club. But I decided to go to book club anyhow to see what I was missing. Got there and 2 others didn’t read it either. The ones that did talked 1 1/2 hours about it! On the way home I was thinking I still had no idea what it was about😮. I thought I was in the wrong one for me. But then the next book was The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and after that it was okay. So went you show the book I completely understood why you didn’t read it and how you felt because it was a buddy read. It happens. But yes I want to read things I like😊❤

Yay at the bingos! 🎉A good start on this month's too. I'm so glad you are doing Mel's Around the World readathon too!
I love the Tea Shop series - Drayton is one of my favorite side characters and I like Tidwell - he makes me smile. Have you read her Scrapbooking series? I like it too. I didn't care for Cackleberry either.

The Tea Shop series has been on my radar. I've heard so many good things about that series. I read one book this past week Boundaries by Henry Cloud (non-fiction). It taught me a lot about myself and people in my life which is why I love non-fiction so much. I'm back to my cozies this week. Have a great week! 📚

Aww so sad about Anna Karenina! But you did get some good reading in and five bingos. 👍

I appreciate your heads-up about a language issue in the Dinner with Edward book. I haven't read a book with an f-bomb in it that I haven't felt it unnecessary. I've read over 20 books by Alexander McCall Smith and have never encountered one, and his writing is fabulous. I enjoyed this video!

I love your Bingo game! But I don't ever plan to read the Yearling. I've visited the author's home and am willing to read other books by her. But several years ago I tried to watch the newer movie and I got so mad at the mother's character, that I dnf'd the movie. 😅 I know I'm being irrational and stubborn. 😂
Anyway, I'm excited to read some Susan Branch books this year. Mitzi sent me Fairy Tale Girl for my birthday.
Happy Reading!

Wow, and I thought Mysteries of Paris had a lot of Characters! I would probably have to read that using SparkNotes or something. 😃

I’ve never read The Yearling. I will have to read it one of these days.

You did well to get all those Bingos last month.
You have made a great start to your 2025 reading. I also DFNed Anna K, just couldn't get into it.
Love the look of the nature book you are reading every day.

"The Jasmine Moon Murder" is my January read for that series. I'm trying to read one a month to get caught up. I will continue to repeat: What is this "I can read out-of-order" nonsense?

THE YEARLING!!! One of my favorite books ever. 🥲🥲🥲 I now want to read it again (would be my 3rd read.) i remember when you first talked about it being on your TBR and how excited I was for the experience you would have.
