As a retired airline pilot, US Airways, I would sadly say that US carriers are being totally outclassed by their foreign competitors. I realize that many of them receive money from their governments but still the discrepancy between US and foreign is a huge gap!

It looks nice but I duno just feels like it was lacking something. I should fly myself once to see what it is. I usually fly for business and always go with emirates business or first class depending on where I travel and the whole experience is very organic. Here it seemed like there is a facade. Ofcourse I'm just going by the video so I might be way off in what I'm saying. But going strictly by the video emirates does appeal to me more only because their biz/first class seems like a part or is their brand, with singapore airlines, in this video atleast it didn't seem like they have truly mastered the service yet. I also found it a little off putting how the lady during boarding gave you a mechanical smile and said "ok, bye bye". A more professional thing to say would be "Have a nice flight sir/ma'am". You guys are catching a flight and she seemed like she was gonna miss the flight. You can fly coach in America and even they know what to say when you send ppl off on a plane. These might seem like snobbish details or some might not care much about them but from a business stand point these subtleties make a big difference. A good video nonetheless.

I always ask people not to film me or the surrounds in the lounge or on the plane..I have asked Sam Chui many times not to do it via blog and on the actual plane and there are many reasons for this but airline policies are changing and depends on the crew but SQ are becoming less tolerant
