I myself run an i7 4770k with an rx 590 and ooo boy its a bumpy ride.The temptations to turn the settings on high are getting serious.

I daily drove my i7 2600k and a gtx 1060 3gb with 16 gb ddr3, Man that cpu was really good, I did YouTube and edits on it. Using it in 2024 is no issue. If your happy with it, Don't spend more money.

I have a 3770S and a 1030. Still capable of 1080p low near-60fps. Looking forward to upgrading GPU and PSU in 1-2 years.

one of my friends was running windows 11 on an i7 950 until like 2022 and it still ran games really well even then (albeit everything else was relatively modern)

The similar i7 3770 and gtx 1070 combo was still solid in 2019-2020. But those days are long gone. My friend in 2023 managed to upgrade from the i7 3770 t0 an i5 10400f and rtx 2060 super . The 10th gen is the budget option now.

Dandy Bridge was an absolute beast when it came out. I had a 2500K. Super easy to overclock. With a high-end air cooler usually 4.5GHz on all cores and with water it would usually push to 5GHz with the right set up. I miss the days of being ablr to overclock near 1GHz from stock.

I was using my I7-2700K until late 2020 lol. I even did editing and stuff on it too. Got really difficult by the end as you can imagine.

I still run that CPU with a GT 620… it takes 3 hours to export a 30 seconds 4k 60 fps video…

I've been running vr on a quest 2 with an i7 2600, gtx 1060 3gb, and 32gb of ddr3 for the past there or so. I'm upgrading to a ryzen 7 2700x, a gtx titan maxwell, and 16gb of ddr4.

The RAM Specs are wild
16 Gigs of 665MHz DDR3... even the old PC I used to play games on had 1333MHz DDR3, although it was 8GB, that being paired with an i5 2320 and a GTX 560.
I actually think about upgrading that PC to the best possible hardware for the old platform for fun (which would be the i7 2700k)
