Biography:
Vincent was born in 1997 in Arnemuiden (The Netherlands). From his ninth age till 2015, he took organ lessons with Jos Vogel. In 2015, he started at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam. First, he got organ lessons by Aart Bergwerff. Nowadays, his teachers are Ben van Oosten and Bas de Vroome for organ literature and Hayo Boerema and Sietze de Vries for improvisation. In June 2023, he finished his organ study in Rotterdam.
Every year, he gives several organ recitals. In 2019, he won the first prize on the SGO organ competition with his rendition of the Toccata in F (BWV 540) of Johann Sebastian Bach on the Schnitger organ in the Martinikerk in Groningen. Since May 2022, he has been organist of the Hillegondakerk in Rotterdam-Hillegersberg. He also gives organ lessons.

Ik zie veel organisten "trots" video's publiceren waar ze spelen op het "grootste" instrument in..." of de "meeste 32' Reeds." Allemaal prima natuurlijk. Maar het valt in het niet bij het kunnen spelen op een oud instrument met een historie van eeuwen. Het instrument waar jij op speelt heeft Barok zien opkomen, de Galante stijl, etc. etc. Het heeft allerlei kerkwijzigingen en cultuurontwikkelingen doorstaan, oorlogen weerstaan en de hoofden en harten beroerd van duizenden. En als organist zittend op de bank, wordt je heel bewust van dat alles. Wat een voorrecht om dit orgel te kunnen gespelen, en het laat zien dat het vak van organist echt anders is dan van elke andere musicus. Dank voor het delen.

Was this one of the organs that was restored by Ahrend and Brunzema in the late 50's or 1960s? I think it was. I remember attending one of Gerhardt Brunzema's talks at my university and I believe this organ was included in his presentation. He had relocated in the early 70's to Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec to become the tonal director at Casvant. During this time at Casavant he encourage the company to build a lot more tracker organs. Brunezema later moved to Fergus, Ontario where he opened Brunzema Organs Inc. I very much enjoyed your performance!
