Hey Wes, I am a new subscriber today and I really enjoy your channel. I have been watching a good deal of Criterion based videos lately and YouTube suggested your site. I’m glad they did. While your site is vinyl centric, I have gone through your videos and can learn how to fix a lawn mower, choose good movies and enjoy a good beer! I especially enjoyed your 41 questions video. Thanks for this site and I look forward to more of your videos. 👍

Awesome video and great pickups! Two Lane Blacktop is one of my favorite all time films and one of my favorite Criterion editions. Great slow burn time capsule of a film on Route 66. Love Y Tu Mama Tambien as well. I haven’t picked up Shoah yet but I’ve heard great things about the documentary. Maybe in the next sale. Enjoy those films!

I’m mostly happy just subscribing to the Criterion Channel, but the sale makes it tempting to pick some up. Images with Susannah York would be high on my wishlist.

Criterion also has a flash sale twice a year that runs for 24 hours. Once in February and once in October. All the titles during that sale are also 50% off.

Two Lane Blacktop - very cool. I bet a large chunk of Barnes' sales happens during the 50% Criterion... I have resisted, but it takes a lot of willpower to do so.

Shoah and Moonrise Kingdom are fantastic additions. What's so impressive about Shoah is that it uses zero archival footage from the Holocaust and they interview former Nazis. Moonrise Kingdom is my second favorite Wes Anderson film behind only The Grand Budapest Hotel.

I'm sorry, the giant space ship models were distracting me in most of that video. Very cool! Moonrise Kingdom was an enjoyable movie for me, although it's set in 1965 and Bruce Willis drives an obviously anachronistic 1968 Satellite wagon and there's a Super Beetle that also clearly doesn't belong in this time frame. The Wagon is the biggest sin because it's prominently in the movie.

I saw a lot of interesting titles there.
That "dead man" movie i saw was that the one with Johnny Dep? The cover look different than the one i have unless it is a different movie.

I have also seen "Y tu mama tambien"
Very interesting movie. I would say they are ofbeat movies.
There is another good one but i can't remember the name of the director right now, the title is "Amores perros" it is a very grity and dark movie it is a movie from the late 90's maybe.
