Honestly, the hair does not look bad in art. I think it might just be the model itself in the show. The combo of Jaune’s bright hair and the hairs being so perfectly shaped. I think if they messed it up a bit, like have some strands bend a literal differently, it would translate more as hair.

Haircut aside I really love this outfit on Jaune. It’s much more professional looking and as you mentioned it’s a good way to showcase his growth as a hunter

I will say that Jaune is very pretty. Definitely one of my favorite designed characters. Even with the banana hair I think it fits well with his character overall. It’s silly just like him.

The banana hair is bad. I completely agree with that. The designers should've given him a different hairstyle. His V7-8 outfit is fine. Him wearing Pyrrah's sash is good (symbolising that she'll be remembered by him and will always be a part of him?). His armour is cool and it shows how he is now prepared for combat. I wish that they'd give him leg greaves/leg guards to further emphasize that he is well-prepared for combat.

The only thing that makes me annoyed is that he’s wearing short sleeves for some reason in the cold, but pretty much none of the outfits are suited for winter anyway so it’s whatever atp, it’s at least a solid outfit that keeps on improving Jaune instead of completely changing him
