I'm glad you decided to have a look at Immersive Citizens. I find it very good even if it imposes extra compatibility considerations and limitations. That is not necessarily the authors fault or responsibility. He did not design the way Skyrim handles NPC AI routines. He does supply pretty extensive guidance on compatibility; but it is quite impossible for him to make his mod compatible to every mod already made and every mod to be made in the future. But some people expect something like that.
I dont know the details of what went on behind the scenes and why the author has been demonized by some - but I know how appalling many players and even some modders can behave. What I mean is, I would expect the author of IC to have been deluged by requests and in some cases demands to make all kinds of adjustments and changes to his mod. The gaming and modding community has many very immature and often toxic individuals who will gang up on people who do not comply to their demands. In other words I am sure there are at least two sides to the tale.
This is an excellent series Michael - even though I am wondering about SE after the recent Creation Club update. At least they leave LE edition alone.

i don't know if it's been fixed or not, but immersive armors breaks the intro section of the game, so definitely run alternate start and avoid using the vanilla option, thought watching the carriages fall apart or go flying into the sky can be hilarious.

Good picks. I've spent a few days mixing up texture packs... I recommend trying out Skyland landscapes and Skyland Imperial forts texture packs as the former hides tilling very well and they're quite subtle and natural textures, and the latter features just superb mossy stone textures. Rudy's HQ Nordic Ruins is worth looking at too, and CC's mines, ore and cave texture packs are all better than Noble Skyrim in those areas. Noble looks wonderful for city, farm, town and village building textures, but it's not so good for other things. It's a good base to work from.

Ne'er a Skyrim playthrough have I started without including most of these mods, except Immersive Citizens only because of it being a bit restrictive when it comes to compatibility with other town mods.

for some reason I am not currently aware of, the author of HD LODS Textures SE has blocked my access to this mod but my real problem is that I can't even see who's mod it is.


I don't know who they, how to contact them, nor what offended them let alone how to make amends.
