Building a Bearded Dragon Tank

Hi guys! So this week I finally upgraded my bearded dragon's tank. It was long overdue, and I'm super happy with how it came out. I hope you enjoy watching me build it!

48x20x24 (~100 gallon) jewelry/showcase cabinet
Background:
Flooring:
Tile - picked up at my local Habitat For Humanity Restore
Hides:
Styrofoam - any foam board from your local hardware or craft stores will do
Paint - acrylic craft paint
Wood:
Driftwood from my local river
Various wood I had laying around
Lights:
Fake Cactuses? Cacti? - Dollar tree
Water Dish - ? it came in a tank I purchases second-hand
The drawers and top screens were made by my dad.
The acrylic on the front was 48x24x1/4

Hello everyone! 😊 It's been about 4 months since I posted this video, but I've gotten a comment about her water bowl several times now, so I just wanted to address it. First of all, thank you so much for the concern! It means the world that people are concerned about the well being of Zsasz ❤. I ended up taking the water bowl out a little bit after posting the video, because she wouldn't drink out of it. In this video I stated that I just wanted to test it out, I did, it failed 🙃. I assure you guys, I monitored her humidity, and it didn't go up any at all. A small water bowl is fine in a bearded dragon tank as long as you monitor the humidity (with a hygrometer), and you make sure it is away from the heat lamp. Yes, I spray her salads down with water, and yes I give her baths (I've talked about both of these things in various videos previously). I don't spray her nose down, because she hates it (haha). I've just gotten this comment a lot, so I decided to just pin a comment instead of responding to it over and over. Again, thanks so much for the concern, it really does make my heart smile. You guys are awesome and I hope you have a fantastic day!!! 😊

Mine wasn’t drinking out of a water bowl either until I started putting powdered calcium in the water dish. It floats for a while and mine loves the calcium. It’s like ice cream to him. He puts his whole face in it he bowl now and drinks a ton while eating the calcium as well. 2 birds one dish!! Good luck! And thanks for the ideas.

Looks sharp, well done. I have had nice results with cleaning lexan and other plastics with automotive polishing compounds and polish. Might help with your glue marks.

I am just now watching this video. I love Habitat for Humanity's ReStore. We found a 45 gallon aquarium with light kit and a cabinet stand for $90. It is super cool that you were able to repurpose a jewelry display. I just built the background for my Leopard Gecko's new 36x18x18 enclosure.
