Fashion is a staple of French culture, yet many of our everyday clothes actually are actually named after English words.

I mean, they sound like English words, but we’re using these words… creatively. Words such as pull, jogging, sweat, slip, jean and other familiar english terms.

So today I’m taking you on a tour of our drawers and wardrobes, to quickly learn about French clothing vocabulary.

Salut!! Oui, on use beaucoup de mots en anglais et aussi en français au Bresil. Comme par example, "Shopping", "sandwich", "cinema", "abat-jour", "soutien" (pas soutien-gorge") e alcune altre :)

I was really shocked by the fabric to make jeans being known also as "jean", because "denim" is a French word!! (it was known as "serge denim" from French serge de Nîmes, denoting a kind of serge from the town of Nîmes)

A tiny detail: windbreaker usually refers to an "abri du vent" for the beach. The imper is called a wind-cheater (trompeur du vent?).
