This video is a short tutorial on the methods by which you can clear a copyright claim or strike from your video if it has been falsely claimed by Artlist. As an Artlist subscriber, you have a license you use Artlist music in your films and youtube videos, however, sometimes the content ID system will make a mistake and flag your video for copyright infringement and stop your monetization anyway. These are the two ways by which you can contest the copyright claim and re monetize your video!

The man is 100% right. But first check if your account section on Artlist has an area where you can upload the video link and clear the copyright claim almost instantly. My account had that and I solved it in minutes.

Thanks for this super helpful video! This just happened to me the first time, even using a song from Artlist that I have used before. This time it got claimed. Went through the process, and hopefully things will now get cleared up. Cheers!

Great video - thanks. My experience is with one track out of about ten in a video that used music tracks downloaded from Storyblocks to which I subscribe as well as Artlist. And YT says its someone else's copyright - I filled in that form but there is a different system on Storyblocks - I think you are supposed to tell Storyblocks about your YT channel and link it somehow - however, there is always one that slips out - especially if you are doing long videos - this one is an hour long video for meditation so they often pick up false claims that do not realise it is in one of the stock libraries - the owner probably sold it to more than one place. With Artlist, for a FOOTAGE claim, I can't see my specific order ID on the account that has been flagged as not my copyright by YT but I gave as much detail as possible on the form.

When I go to their site and try to subscribe it literally won't show me any plans or anything, just a blank screen.

Thanks! I was certain that there was an ability to upload that PDF in the past. That's why I searched for a video and ended up here.

Makes sense. Here's the problem I'm trying to figure out. I don't plan on paying Artlist in perpetuity. If I take a break from the platform and don't renew my subscription for a year then I want to feel like the content I have already created (I had a license at the time of creations) will not get a copyright strike. The process you just described isn't available when you aren't a subscriber even though when you downloaded and used the music you were. Right now if I go to my account, view my library, the license isn't available for any of the songs I downloaded. Artlist and other "royalty free houses" like to tell you have permission to use the music for life but now it appears I can't access the license 1 month after my subscription expired. To make matters worse, I just found out that you have to have an active subscription to use any of their music even though you downloaded the music when you had an active subscription. The service is a rip off. If I paid for a year, anything that I downloaded (unlimited downloads) should be available for use without a copyright violation.

Easy to resolve with Youtube but a pain in the ass to resolve with Facebook or instagram. I would recommend not using Artlist for any commercial work. Nothing worse than a client posting a video you created for them and then the music being muted. Disaster!!!

Great video brother! I have a serious question which i havent found answered anywhere
I know if i buy the subscription for lets say a year and use it in my projects, that If I cancel later, I can still monetize those old videos
but if someone else files a copyright claim against me after my subscription has ended on my older perfectly legal videos, then what do i do considering i dont have the subscription anymore

Super helpful and straight to the point. Joseph, can I ask for your opinion about pixabay track? I got the claim for a Pixabay track, used in my video. Will that cancel the monetization possibilities? What do you think? Thank you, Joseph!

Thank you for a very informative video! Do you have any idea if two people share an artlist account (we are not that rich :) ) and the name on the licence is not mine, can I still use the licence code? I'm guessing no, but I didn't know who to ask. Thank you very much!
