Greetings from Scotland! The show is simply called "DUETS" and the premise is that 2 singers are selected to perform a song, but neither is told who the other is. Both are rehearsed separately and in secret and when the duet starts, one singer is hidden. Neither singer can clearly hear the other because of heavy distortion in their earpieces. Only when the final dividing wall is lifted is the distortion lifted! You see the surprise on both faces, because they are actually friends, from back on the "ShowMASKGoOn" series where they were both contestants. (Yulia is the famous woman in red who has that incredibly surprised look. Toni Braxton has a contralto voice, so Yulia had to go very low (for her) and she did very well! Of course, Diana was well within her comfort zone. The result was very good and it is always nice to see friends meeting in a surprise.

Привет из Шотландии! Шоу называется просто "ДУЭТЫ", и его суть в том, что для исполнения песни выбираются 2 певца, но ни одному из них не сообщается, кто другой. Оба репетируются отдельно и в тайне, а когда начинается выступление дуэта, один певец скрывается. Ни один из певцов не может отчетливо слышать другого из-за сильных искажений в наушниках. Только после того, как будет снята последняя перегородка, искажения исчезнут! Вы видите удивление на лицах обоих, потому что они на самом деле друзья, еще со времен сериала "ШоуМАСКгоон", где они оба были участницами. (Юлия - знаменитая женщина в красном, у которой невероятно удивленный взгляд.) У Тони Брекстон контральто, поэтому Юлии пришлось петь очень глубоко (для нее), и она справилась очень хорошо! It was a duet, not a duel. It was an unrehearsed collaboration, not a contest between them. The voices were distorted in the earphones so they could not recognize the partner until the mirror was lifted. At the end of the show, the home audience voted on which duet pair they liked the most. Diana and Julia became friends when they both participated in the ShowMaskGoOn program in 2021. Julia was the blonde in the red dress who was astonished by Diana's "Can't Help Falling In Love".

Yulia Parshuta (* 1988, Sochi, Russia; actress and singer) must have been surprised that she had to rehearse this song with tones that were almost too low for her, of course not for Diana. Yulia doesn't know who is behind the wall and she can't recognize the voice because it's played in a distorted way into her earphones... and how great it was when the wall disappeared and these young women, both excellent singers, they were happy to see each other. They have known each other since they were contestants in the ShowMaskGoOn competition 2 years ago. Here the two present a wonderful variation of a world-famous song the enthusiastic audience.

This is low for Julia ( the shocked woman in red at Diana's performance of "Can't help falling in Love"), she has a beautiful high range. In fact I believe I mentioned Julia's performance of "Cinderella" in your reaction to Diana at that show. Very comfortable and beautiful in her higher register.

Some clarification about Julia's vocal abilities - she is a mezzo-soprano.

The participants do not know about the partner in the duet.
They are separated by a mirrored screen. They hear the voice of the duet partner in the headphones distorted (squeaky). The operator lifted the screen and turned off the distortion at the beginning of the third verse of the song. The audience appreciated the singers' ability to sing in unison blindly. Several duets performed in the show. Choosing the best.

Julia is a Mezzo not a Contralto, she is able to go low, way lower than Sopranos but not as low as Contraltos, Julia's lowest note in this piece was an F3 (and probably the lowest note she can hit) while Diana's lowest was an A#2, more than half an octave lower.
If you want examples of famous Mezzos like Julia then you can think of Celine Dion and Shakira as good examples and you can probably recognize similarities in their voices.
Toni Braxton herself has a low voice but she never went lower than Diana in her life, in fact her lowest note was D3 two notes lower than Julia's F3.

Diana of course has a huge range and she can absolutely go sky high too, if you are interested to hear her in a duet where she reaches space with her voice then you have to listen to her sing "The day you..." with Brandon Stone, it is an original song that Brandon wrote for Diana and they sing it together for New Years.
It is one of her most recent videos on her channel,
