Winston’s confirmed role as a mentor and father figure in the upcoming Ballerina spinoff movie makes a popular John Wick fan theory much less likely to come true. Set to be released on June 6, 2025, the spinoff From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is the first official John Wick movie outside the main series. It will star Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro, a ballerina who’s being trained as an assassin in the ways of the Ruska Roma. It’s being directed by Live Free or Die Hard’s Len Wiseman and written by Rebel Moon’s Shay Hatten.

The Ballerina cast will introduce some new blood to the John Wick universe, like Gabriel Byrne and Norman Reedus. But it’s also bringing back some familiar faces from the previous John Wick movies. Anjelica Huston will have a major role as The Director, Keanu Reeves will have a cameo as Wick himself, and the late, great Lance Reddick will make his final on-screen appearance as Charon. Ian McShane will reprise his role as the proprietor of the New York Continental, Winston Scott, and it sounds like it’ll squash the best fan theory about his character’s backstory.

La Femme Nikita (1990) is a movie about a female assassin running around killing everyone the government told her to. It was fun, interesting, and unique when it came out. Today, every 90 pound girl can lay waste to a platoon of marines, a dozen street thugs, and a heard of trained assassins, all at the same time. It's just BS. I find it intellectually insulting and emotionally repulsive. So, no, I'm skipping Ballerina.

And here, in new film, I notice "Ruska Roma". A simple explanation for those, who do not know or do not want to learn something: word "Ruska" means adjective "UKRAINIAN"! I am a Rusyn (Ukrainian) and my ancestors always called Ukrainian things "Ruska" ("Ruska mova", that is, "Ukrainian language"), but they never were muscovian! I watched the last John Wick part several months ago and recognised that there is something wrong, as you try to relate the Muscovites to something Ukrainian. *Creators of Ballerina and John Wick, what are you doing and why do you totally confuse the people with such things ?!*

I hope they do this realistically. women are not as strong as men, so they must use treachery and cunning to compensate, so far the John wick movies have been pretty good at this. the best movie was atomic blonde, the bruises she had in the ice bath really showed how hard she had to fight.
