Glad to see it running. Fuel pumps aren't as scary as they seem. Very simple replaceable elements and as long as they are put back together properly and the rack, sleeves, and pistons are set properly. Good work.

My secret weapon for de rusting parts is electrolysis. Muriatic acid works too is properly neutralized. If parts get pitted you can electroplate them with nickel and smooth with crocus cloth. You were smart to take it apart, I have seen people get a rusted fuel system running but it ate itself up in short order with the oxides. Nice job bringing the machine back to life!

I knew you would figure it out. You "tinker" until its working. More work than I would want to do, but you seem to always get it done.

Stock up on Brake clean or Carb clean! Best way to clean small parts. O'Rilley usually has the cheapest price. Also, a safe starting fluid is WD40. Might not work in all cases, but is a lot easier on the engine than either. Also, take apart all for the heavy battery cable connections, and make certain all connections are clean, bright, and snug. A lot of amperage can be easily lost! You can often track down a faulty connection by gingerly feel it when cranking. A bad connection will surely be HOT. Now, you can bleed the air out again, as you had to take off the fuel line to stop it. Is that lever to the right of the injector pump possibly an engine stop lever?

Hello, don't know if anyone mentioned about the safety shutoff small leaver right beside the pump, it's for emergency shutoff if the solenoid fails.
