When it comes to cheap film photography, nobody is cheaper than *theoldcameraguy*. He's better than a Scotsman with the generosity squeezed out of him! 🙂

One way to save money on film is less fun for film enthusiasts. But, combine film with digicam photography. I do both these days to shoot less film, but still get shots with similar colors and similar limitations compared to modern DSLR and mirrorless cameras.
Another way to get cheap film is to always mention film, if people ask for wishes for birthday gifts and Christmas presents. I have all the socks and ties I need, and a good bottle of wine is lost on me, but there is always room for another roll of film in the fridge.

One thing you didn't mention was half frame cameras. With one, you can take a 36-exposure roll and shoot 72 pictures.

Film photography certainly isn't cheap. In the UK we need to add exorbitant postage costs if you are sending film out to be developed. As I only shoot film occasionally its still not worth investing in home development.

Good tips. Yep no more color film for me, after I shoot what I got stocked. I'm switching to only B&W and develop at home. Anyone found any good reusable 35mm canisters for bulk loading?
