For what it's worth I have a 2015 Beta 300 and I've tried to kill it. It has over 20, 000 off road miles on two pistons. Regular maintenance like oil changes and clean filters. Not one mechanical failure. It still runs like it's new.

I always love it when some IRC Rich Larson content pops up on my feed. I always learn something useful even if it’s way higher than my current skill level. Thanks for sharing your opinions and thoughts on these two models.

Beta's in-house engineering is what I really appreciate, they are a smaller manufacturer but take a lot of pride in every bike and part that they make. You can see this in how much they will progress even the lesser-used models like the RS. Hope you stick with them Rich as they need more exposure in the US.

Great breakdown, Rich! I can give a slightly different perspective of the 2024 TE 300 as a 70 year old amateur enthusiast rider. After 100 hours of PNW gnar the bike has never failed me. That said, my bike and every other 2024 TBI KTM or Husky in our group exhibited the same “slightly rich” fueling at light load right off idle. Better than the stock TPI bikes, but not perfect. I installed an RK Tec high compression head insert and that completely cleaned up the bottom end but introduced a little top end pinging on pump gas. I then installed an electric cooling fan and mix 1/3 100 octane aviation gas to 2/3 pump premium. The bike runs flawlessly now. Others have installed the Two Stroke Performance high compression insert and ERM ( essentially a fully programmable ECU) with great results. This second route offers more adjustability for considerably more money. Either tuning method works well with the stock pipe and silencer. The TBI has more low end on tap than the TPI, and the revised injector location and separate function not only make for a more stable idle but solve the cold weather seizure issue that we experienced with the TPI bikes.

The new stiffer frame coupled with the better fork and shock made a big difference for me. I am 10-15% faster, and tackle the rocky sections with more confidence because the bike goes where it is pointed with far less deflection. A happy side benefit is that I don’t need to hang on so tightly, aggravating my carpal tunnel issue. I was concerned that the stiffer setup would transmit more damaging shock to the body but this is not the case. I ride 3-4 days a week, 25-30 miles on average in difficult conditions.

I’ve purchased 5 new KTM/ Husky 300’s in the last 13 years and feel that this new gen enduro bike is a big step forward. The improvements can be appreciated by skilled amateur riders too.

What is great about your videos is that you do not drop cus words every 5 minutes. Thank you for your expert opinions for ALL audiences.

That stump jump was AMAZING!! I own a number of carb'd KTMs and Huskys and they all ran uneven at fixed throttle settings until I added STIC metering blocks to the Keihin Carbs that I like to run. This is the best setup I have found.

You made me want to try a beta before. I'm on a 22 sherco 300 2t and I love the way it feels except it's so much heavier than the beta 300rr my gf runs when we both ran TKO last year. Definitely thinking about trying out a beta but I do love the lug of my sherco. Awesome video as always sir! May see you at Mansfield, MO next month for your clinic as that's our normal riding spot!

I have a 2024 KTM 300 EXC and the stock KTM map had a noticeable partial throttle burble (over rich) which I didn't like. I purchased a TSP ERM power kit with mid compression head and it runs so much better now and totally resolved the partial throttle burble. I'm still running the base TSP map settings, but the ERM allows you to adjust the fueling, ignition and PV if you like. Great piece of kit...

As long as Beta continues to use a carburetor on the 2t, I will back them 100%.

Think your throttle cam idea is a great place to start. Spent a couple of hours on the Sherco today.... lovely!!!

Thanks for the fantastic review. I bought one of these just before snow flew here in Vermont, so I was only able to put a couple hours on it ripping around my pasture before putting it up for the winter. The last dirt bike I rode was forty years ago--an '82 CR125. I was fifteen, 100 lbs., and couldn't touch the ground; it was a blast! Hopefully this new bike will be fun too. My wife and kids are pretty sure I'm going to die on it.

I have been riding HUSQ TE 300i 22 for two seasons now and being a shorter rider (5'7 tall) I find HUSQ a bit tall and heavy in curtain technical terrain. Never ridden Beta but I really want to. I have only been standing next to a Beta bike on the Enduro track and it seems like the bike is physically smaller compared to the KTM brand? Beta 300 RR 2025 comes with "Lower Seat Height: Reduced by 20mm with a newly designed shape and softer foam for increased comfort". Hype is real! Great break down Rich, really love you channel. Big ups from Norway!
