Isn’t that the way, if it’s going to break it’s always in the middle of the night, the life of a farmer can’t thank you guys enough for feeding us👍👍👍

Your dad was having fun. Big smile on his face. Must like not waking up to feed.

That black socket is made for Impact Tools. It is a harder steel than normal sockets as you found out the hard way....

Very ingenious idea with the socket makes that job a whole lot easier. Glad everything is working out with the new automated system. Stay safe

I've heard people refer to a "farmer fix" as something that is potentially a barely-good-enough fix, but I subscribe to the "if it works, it ain't stupid" school of thought. Good solution with the socket and pipe.

We have a 140 ft long 24in Kelly conveyor made in Seymour WI. It catches feed from 5 20ft silos. We made a socket like that and also have a hook style chain. Wever also put a freq drive and gear box for soft starting and eliminating the belt drive. We also switched to a spring loaded tensioner on the idler end. That really helps as we found w long conveyor the temperature really makes it expand or contract.

Very impressed with your feeding system! Has been fun to come along with your journey to get it installed!

Nice to hear the system will not be down long if the Lely Vector has a problem. That would be a real concern of mine if something was to break down in the night, but I guess you all have that under control. Enjoyed watching, thanks!

Pro Tip: welding round stock together is eiasier when you lay it in a 45 degree angle, it holds the pieces flush and true

Have to admit i was skeptical about the robot feeders, yall did a heck of alot of work in that setup and all in all seems simpler that I thought it would be very nice sir
