Government’s house building plan is ‘insane’: Andrew Bolt

Sky News host Andrew Bolt says the government has an “insane plan” to build 1.2 million homes in five years.

Mr Bolt said it looks like it will be “another broken promise”.

“That means the housing crisis is going to get even worse.”

Insane plan, your too kind, 2800 construction firms gone bust. The bankruptcy of building firms is far from over. This Government doesn't have a clue. Just infrastructure here is SE Queensland is way behind population growth, never mind house and apartment construction. The incompetence of State, Federal and local government is mindboggling, and we have the Olympics coming to boot.

The government has no plan. All it has is a number needed for the population growth. its current policy is not conductive to the building of new houses so it is unlikely that its target number of new build will be met.

Councils will hold alot of these approvals up because of a POWER Struggle between them and Government. Building codes will make them that more expensive and all the new regulations. Thank god its a dream as it aint going to happen, ever in our lifetime !
