I would call the end of the 80's as the golden age. It's the last time where general power users could understand the entire machine and the synergy of hardware and software could be exploited while at the same time the machines were cheap and capable enough to do pretty much anything most computer people would want to do.

Sir kindly tell me the technical similarities and differences b/w the Turing machine and the analytical engine?
