Other than weather effects, the game looks exactly the same. also the way far trees and snow particles gets rendered without shadows or even too bright (their low-triangle or even 2d models) is not really looking that great, there is constant popping of those objects. Eye adaptation when going from dark to light environment is something native to Unreal Engine and you could already do that in TSW or TSW2 by adding this effect to ini, they only added it by default here. Funny thing that Train Life had to come with dynamic weather first for DTG to change it here - and they needed two more games to do that while TL simply added it by patch.

I like seeing the lighting being better inside tunnels. I agree with you many routes when I'd get inside a tunnel in tsw2 it felt like headlights were not effective at all.

LZB Overrides PZB so it aint matter if you have it on/off
PZB is controlling your awareness of Signals, in case you need to stop on the next main signal, or speed reductions
LZB is continualy controlling system, which can forsee up to 4km on Signal, and it reacts to them by itself in combination with AFB, otherwise you have to break on time by yourself but you dont have to watch signals outside ^^
(German engine driver here =) )

I tested the heavy snow conditions as a passenger. Riding on the ICE train and the snow blows unbelievably through the coaches. It broke the immersion for me.

I must say, as a former German Lokomotive Driver( Freighttrain) you doing it very well ;), i drive this Route for my self true Würzburg Departing mostly from Fulda up to Kornwestheim or Beimarstetten near Ulm. You see the Lokomotive in my Profilfoto an what kind of Train i Drive. Also physicly and realisticwise this Simulator gets better and better.
But just for Notice for your next Trip with LZB and PZB, if you you arel lockt in LZB you DONT have to aknowlege the Signals! LZB doing all this for you, you see if you are lockt in to LZB when the Number beside the B goes of and you get the indicators of Vmax-Speed, Set-Speed and the Yellow-Distance Bar ...you just have to aknowlege the End of LZB with the Free Button ( its the middle one of the 3 aknowlege Buttons) and in the Dashscreen you get a Yellow E Sign, if it pops up you got 10s to aknowlege this! after this the Distance Bar counts down to Main-Signal or LZB Blocksign( withe Sign with a Number in a Black Circle) ...after this you are in PZB-Mode only and HAVE to aknowlege all Speed restricting Signals which are under 100 km/h. These Signals can be Green/Yellow for low speed ahaed on next Signal is it with a Number it means the Speed what you are have to reach on the next Signal ( all Speedrestrictions under 100km/h have to be aknowlege!) + you have to be under the Speed of the PZB Speed restriction! for examble is there a blinking 85 with a Yellow 1000Hz Sign in Dash under 85 a 70 under 70 and 55 under 55, Yellow/Yellow for Stop on next Signal + PZB-Speed restriction Brake Curve!!! Blinking 85 with 1000Hz you got 23s to brake down to 85km/h is there a blinking 70 29s for down to 70km/h (most Freighttrains) and 55 38s to brake under 55km/h (heavy Freightrains) and you have to brake even further if the Main-Signal stays Red until you reach the 500Hz Magnet! you need to be at 40km/h at blinking 85 at 30 with blinking 70 and at 25 with blinking 55.

These are just a few Laws how to Drive Trains in Germany but very Importent ones too, ... if you wish we can go in Contact and i can teach you a few Gerrman Train Laws and you can drive like a Pro in your Simulations. ;)

God Job go on i like your Content. 😉

i think it would be sweet if they had long overnight routes and trains!

3 minutes into it and I’m loving the traffic! do we finally have scenarios And worlds that are alive???? Also the flightsim community flies trips that range between 15 minutes and over 12 hour flights. I don’t think you are tripping. We need longer routes!

Thanks for this. I am a Flight Sim guy, but love all sim "games". My last Train sim was Train Simulator 2005, and i still have the discs :D
I am thinking about buying this since ASOBO and MSFS2020 simply isn't working.

Thanks for all your great content.

Side note: i never knew what all that LZB and stuff meant..glad you kinda explained it!

In Germany, any train line exceeding 160 km/h speed limit should have LZB system installed because it would not be easy for drivers to reliably react to signals on time at higher speeds. I would imagine so many PZB magnet overshoots and emergency braking in real life if there was no LZB system.

Wow, that looks like that other game tsw 2

28:17 By the way, ICE 4 is kind of a downgrade compared to ICE 3 when it comes to speed. It could only do 250 km/h max. Although it has better onboard features since it was developed quite recently. One can call it ICE 1 replacement.

The old Train Simulator franchise was always plagued with sudden stuttering when loading terrain (even if installed on a SSD and high spec PC)... how is Train Sim World 3 when it comes to sudden stutters? It looks like there is stuttering here and there in the vid.

I’ll definitely try out LZB, the combination with good old AFB sounds great. Thanks for the informative video!

I’d love for dovetail to add a Chinese route with the cr400 and crh380. Those routes can exceed 3 hours and it would be super cool

it’s like they’ve always focused on German trains man, the least they can do for us new yorkers is give us either a subway line (4, 5, 6) or metro north (hudson extension) and new haven line.
