Best Number Of Trail Cams Needed

More is NOT better when it comes to the number of trails cams per acre on your land! Too many trails needed per acre means that something is going terribly wrong on your land. The ideal number of trail cams needed where you hunt is likely far fewer than you think, if you are recognizing and defining how deer actually move across the land. Here is why.

Where should your trail cams go on your land? Check out my latest web class:

The right number of trail cams will tell you where bucks are located during daylight on your land, but the weather will tell you when to hunt! Make sure that you are following my weather forecast deer hunting predictions when you head to the woods. Check out HuntCast, at:

Acorns are an important food source for deer. Sure, they might hit them at dark, but oaks are still important for deer.

Great video. I have found that a corn pile in conjunction with a quality food plot in the same area works well. And you have taught me that access is huge. That was a game changer. Thanks

I have cameras mostly on runways or logging roads but sometimes I will put 2 cameras facing towards each other but that's in open hardwoods. Got deer to finally use my vertical licking branch in my food plot. Noticed it had to be out a little further leaved it be for 2 weeks checked cams and they loved it. Plus so many acorns on our lease last year was walking on marbles.

I’m going to apply these tactics for big mule deer buck Im trying to pattern on about 300 acres of public land. He’s in a herd of 30 does and there’s ag feed on the one side I’m betting on catching him coming out to feed. Going to try to put a cam on each main trail heading to feed.

Another great video! I'm hoping all the work we've done this year pays off. We planted 2 plots, cleared almost an acre, created travel corridors, mock scrapes, screened access and plots. Cant wait to see if all the work pays off. Thanks Jeff!

Not gonna lie but I skipped a day of putting out trail camera for golf 😂. However, I finally broke 75 so it was worth it.
