Who in the world would want a controller that got hot on purpose. I can see a controller that would stay cool but not one that would get hot or even warm. Instead of these gimmicks, use hall effects to avoid stick drift or try something different to completely rule out stick drift as a thing that can happen on a controller. My current PS5 controller owned just around a year has really bad stick drift. 1 year of use shouldn't lead to stick drift.

I used to like rumble and such, then controllers went wireless and these special features started sucking up my batteries too fast. I'd rather have a barebones controller for $40 than have one with all these special features.

Thats temp shifting controller would be neat for like 3 minutes, then I'd never use the gimmick again.

Dear Sony, please do not make a temperature controller. Please also remove rumble. What we want is hall effect sticks, back paddles and colourful translucent plastics.

Instead of going and upgrading dual sense Sony needs to start making full use of Gyro as its almost unavailable on every game.

I like the idea of talking with alloy. As can be like you are there with her as she goes through the adventure and you get to talk and converse with her throughout her adventure. Just like you tag along with your friend and talking with them.

The heating/cooling feature sounds like a nightmare.

Imagine if AI NPC's in your JRPG, that could be crazy longevity each time you play the game they could possibly have an unlimited dialogue based on being able to talk to them in real time, like imagine it's an RPG, and you are like to a NPC with the mic in the controller, where is the cave of external damnation, and the NPC says whatever as it's AI based you might be able to talk to them and have a conversation in them that's deep and unique for every player based on how you phrase things. That's kinda surreal

Man My PS2 Joystick is still working fine after 16 years.
Meanwhile my PS4 one started acting up, the square wouldn't work and the R1 would trigger on it's own after just 2 years of use, I fixed it for a while by cleaning it's inside contacts and placing a paper under the square so it's higher up and it's easier to make it make contact without pressing it super hard while the R1 triggering on it's own was fixed by adding some paper between the flex cable and the board, seems like the solder points in the board actually pierced the flex cable and caused it to short and press the R1 whenever you grab the joystick too hard, shake it or press a button close to the R1 like triangle or R2.
It worked for a while but then it started happening again but now my super chinese screwdriver stripped the hell of all the screws and now I can't open it again lol.
Then, to add insult to injury I got scammed when buying a new controller and paid the equivalent of 70 USD for a fake controller that feels like crap and has very little sensitivity on the triggers so it's not good for driving games.
Anyways, I hope Playstation can make joysticks reliable again, you know, easy to replace battery, hall effect analogue sticks, a board that doesn't have sharp solder points that stab the flex cable or a little shield for it.

I wouldn’t use the new features. Especially if it drains its battery, considering the pa5 controllers with all the settings off and the light at dim it still drains fast. So, yeah I wouldn’t really be into the gimmicks.

Heating and cooling would drain the battery faster than you can reach the next check point. The best thing they could do is throw in some tunnel magneto resistors and dual gyro. Even better if they actually use it and the map buttons extra features called a "touchpad"
