I can't believe I finally understood this scene after all these years. We see images of the fellowship in the mirror, all giving Frodo suspicious looks. The Galadriel says that he will try to take it, and that one by one it will tear the fellowship apart. Frodo understands what he must do, but is afraid. This scene sets up Frodo's decision to leave the Fellowship, and go solo. I always felt bad about the Fellowship breaking up, but now I realize that if those 8 had remained together, the Ring would have torn them apart. But as three different groups, they managed to accomplish much more, without the temptation of the ring looming over them. Frodo was lucky that the Fellowship had to break up, and he was lucky that only Sam came along.

Galadriel perfectly embodies the spirit of Tolkien’s elves. Beautiful and powerful yet with a hint of avarice. Even Galadriel who has witnessed most of Sauron’s evil still on some level yearns for the ring that has caused her people so much harm.

When she said "ALL SHALL LOVE ME AND DESPAIR!!!" that was one of the most terrifying lines she said.

Cate Blanchett was great as Galadriel, even the minor roles are just perfectly cast in these movies.

Also I’m high key terrified of what Galadriel would do if she became the ring master..

This shows that even the virtuous will eventually become corrupted by the ring. It doesn't matter how the ring is used, the source of its power is malicious and malevolent.
In the end, even Frodo failed. The ring was destroyed because he and Gollum happened to be fighting over it near a cliff.

Notice how even when Galadriel goes into crazy power hungry god mode, Frodo still has his hand open for her if she wishes to have the ring. Even after seeing that he still thinks she’s the best person for it. I wonder if he was scared of her or just thought she was proving she’s powerful enough to carry the ring. She’s such an interesting character bc of her pride and her flaws. Too many times the character of some ethereal lady in white whose seen as some kind of goddess is just a perfect person, with no flaws or real personality. She’ll always be my fav noldor elf!

Jackson Galadriel's ethereal creepiness conveyed so much more power, respect and dignity than the Amazon Armored Girlboss version. This one doesn't have to tell you what she's seen - you just KNOW. That's what comes from great writing, faithful adaption and respecting your lore.

I love how she loses a little bit of reserve when she says “and some things that have not yet come to pass” even her tiny minuscule sign of weakness shows how scared she really was of the future of Sauron had retrieved the one ring

Artanis Nerwen Altáriël/Galadriël, daughter of Arafinwe Ingoldo and Eärwen (the Swan-Maiden of Alqualonde) left the Immortal Lands seeking a kingdom in Middle-Earth; there is no coincidence, then, this was her trial. That's why she said 'I passed the test'; as an Exiled Ñolde, the Doom of Mandos fell also over her, and she felt unworthy of returning to the West until finally triumphing here. By this act, she redeemed herself.

I truly love the editing to Galadriel that makes her literally glow and you do get the sense that looking at her is like seeing the sun or bright light and it forces you to look away or you’ll be blinded. Like she’s so beautiful that it can hurt you haha.

This is such an epic scene. Beautiful rendered by Jackson & Co. Cate Blanchett just nailed it as Galadriel - not a perfect and two dimensional character but a fully developed individual with her own pride and frailty - confronting her own demons just as each member of the fellowship must do

What a great actor Elijah Wood is. In his great blue eyes we can see all the fear, anxiety, weight, tension and loneliness that being the ringbearer brings. What a perfect cast this movie has
