Thank you for the fine recordings of these pieces. I have had this book for many years--one of those permanent keepers by the console for various liturgical needs.

For most of Dom Benoit’s life, although not necessarily in the monastery (because the Solesmes congregation had previously pushed for the current practice, rejected at the time of the Vatican Edition by Pius X), this would have been a nice way to finish the Canon on Sundays outside of Advent and Lent and on feast days: sing the Benedictus after the consecration, then play (improvise or from a written piece in a modal style). Now it would be nice if you actually sang Mass VI (hardly anyone does, not even the Solesmes family) but it’s lovely like all of Benoit’s works.
