Sir, I have a doubt which is not important.
1) how triac works in 4 quadrants with MT1, MT2 and gate signal? Can the working be used for 1 phase ac voltage regulator instead of two SCRs anti-paralled?

Sir i have this one doubt that you have mentioned that the SOA of P BJT is 1st quadrant. But sir if we take npn BJT then that device will reject the negative voltage and hence the limit will lie in the negative voltage axis. And the SOA is in 2nd quad.

So i think depending upon the type of BJT used the SOA will be on 1st or 2nd quadrant.
