I just started sprinting, and I am doing great. I am 64, a former runner, but not a fan of running. I am not overweight but hold some weight in my belly. I'll keep ya posted.

What constitutes a sprint? Is it a matter of getting heart rate to a certain level within a certain short amount of time? How can a person who is physically prohibited from running perform the metabolic equivalent of a sprint in some other way?

Please publish a research on sprinting

I figured I'd chime in. Sprinting seems scary for some. What might be a sprint for someone, could be a jog for someone else. I would suggest, if you are beginning, start slow.
This is great advice. If you look at Olympic sprinters, they look better rhan the long distance runners.
Even if you try sprinting on a elliptical or an exercise bike, give it a try. God gave us this meat suite, we need to take care of it the best we can

I have artificial knees, I’m 73. I have incorporated sprinting with in a 30 minute cycling class at my gym 2-3 times per week. The teacher has us push it to the max 3 to 4 times each class.

Walking say for an hour at the gym vs sprinting for 8 sets of 20 seconds which would be better to lose visceral fat?

sprinting is weight training involving all body and max speed muscle contraction.

Because there are those of us that can’t do it…

Thanks again for your insight and knowledge! Why is it that love handles are so difficult to reduce and eliminate? I’ve been doing ketovore for almost 2 years, have practiced daily intermittent fasting for a year and a half, but just in the last month or so have really embraced sprinting 3-4 times a week, as per your advice. Also, during the last 2 weeks I’ve done a 2-day fast each of those weeks, as per your advice as well. I guess the answer to my question may be because it didn’t take 1 week to put on those love handles. It’ll just take more time with these consistent measures put into practice.

To echo others, one must always examine the risk to reward ratio. Sprinting can be very risky.

I’ve just found your content. Due to my knees and weight sprinting running isn’t currently an option. Is rowing, biking, or battle ropes an option? Is one better than the others. Do you have an ideal duration and number of intervals you recommend

Can you do an alternate such as jumping jacks or jogging in place

Not everyone can sprint, if people are out of shape it’s really hard. I recommend high incline fast walking 30 seconds on 30 off and increase the seconds till they build endurance .

I used to love sprinting but I stopped since I heard it’s not good for the joints and also it leads to high cortisol levels which leads to belly fat so the purpose is defeated. Can you please explain if this if true? 😢 Thanks

How much sprinting? 3 sets of 100 meters with rest intervals?

I would say orthopedic issues hinder many. Make effective alternatives more clearly known in your talks rather than merely the term “sprinting.”

Hi Tony. Indeed, sprint sessions, combined with an adequate diet, stress management and good sleep are key for reducing visceral fat.
But at the same time you have to keep an eye on your fasting insulin level that should ideally be at 3 and anyway less than 5 even if tests laboratories tell us that even at 24 for instance your insulin level is acceptable.
The body fat percentage for an average individual is 15 % for a man and 25 % for a woman. Sprinting could be challenging for a centenarian😊. In this case, maybe exercising on a trampolin is an excellent altrnative. What are your thoughts about that?

Wish I could sprint still. Body hurts too bad.

Does it mean I have to train on trampolin like certificated mrs. baerbock and loose my brain like mrs. baerbock?
