Installing a drainage system to run behind a retaining wall we just installed. Glad I saw this before I started backfilling with gravel and dirt. Missing a few parts that would be very handy (and make the job look better).

Loving my leaf filter. Check it after every rain and it never fails to disappoint me!

Instal looks nice and clean, also to clean out the line doesn’t seem like it can get easier than that!

I wanted to share a Trade idea with you as a Foreman of a Company that installed these underground drains, when we removed the sod how it done for easy removal and reattachment with a tamp how we would remove the grass is to make a cut with a line handled shovel on both sides of the intended run of drain pipe (would lay the pipe on the grass as a guide line) and then with a trencher style shovel free any part of the grass still attached and then at one end while on our hands and knees roll the Grass starting at one end towards the side you are kneeling on and flip it so ithe grass is facing down exactly in the same spot it was removed from but upside down on one side then on the opposite side as you have done in the vide shovel the dirt from trench on cloth drop cloths as you have, if the grass is healthy the entire length of the grass flipped upside down on the side Will be one entire long piece, the value to this is just speed mainly. Btw, the work you do is high quality, hope this helps

You are the man! You've convinced me to do my own French drain and gutters, I'm literally in the middle and (wishing I'd just paid you to do it...) the guy who dug it went too deep so I'm filling it up to get my angle for it to drain, but the ground is sooo squishy! Is there something I can do to firm up the trench so I know it won't sink and sag?

Do you back fill with gravel, was always told not to use dirt and to use only gravel? Your thoughts?

@frenchdrainman, could this be adapted to work with rain barrels for gardening?

Nice to see a leaf diverter for a change. Not a fan of all the tape.

Awesome. Stupid question but I want to run a downspout run to the front of my lawn with a pop up so it drains there. But Becusee it’s a long run I’m concerned that by the time I get to the front to the lawn, the hose will be too deep and the pop up will need risers. Will the water rise and empty if there are risers? I know I could go shallow on the pipe but I like to aerate my lawn and need to keep the pipe away from getting punctured. Any tips?

Love your content. Have you done any systems where the gutter doesn't have a traditional downspout Ave instead has rain chairs?

I ordered your 3" downspout pro kit and UPS tells me it'll be here tomorrow (or today.) afternoon. I just realized your not quite a 90 should work out better than I thought. There's a small hill that I'll need to go through and the pop-up should come out on that hill side low facing away from the house about 8 feet from the sidewalk. You recommend the cooper sulfate, but will it kill my tall fescue sod I laid a few years ago (oh, my aching back!) and will pea gravel be too small for under my catch and pop-up? Thanks, looking forward to installing your set-up!

I installed your system last weekend but as a DYI I am wondering if I created a bit of a problem. In Canada, there wasn't a 3" version of the non quite a 90 popup. I used your 3inch "T" popup at the end. I have a very flat yard, my slope on the pipe (50 foot run) forced me to use 3 of your extensions at that T pop-up. Do you see any issues using that many extenders at the popup? Obviously it would take some serious rain/velocity to popup with that many extenders. Thanks for any advice.

How do you guys typically dig the trenches when there are sprinkler lines in the yard? Does it just have to be by hand with shovels?
