The after story is this: LaCanche overnighted the parts to us and we are STUNNED at their availability and customer service (we're talking Facetime calls here, people!) No Home Depot stove is coming with that "we are family" vibe! Thanksgiving was STRESSFUL, but our family time was AMAZING and to all my Homemaker Chic Podcast listeners... we did it for the PEOPLE! Busted oven, be darned! Life throws you curveballs, and it's nice to have a way to feel like you have SOME element of control. That's what my wardrobe does for me in a fun, obviously superficial way. Your patience with a stove breakdown is admirable - the fact that a stove of that price range would break down is not, regardless of their customer service! I have been cooking for many decades and don't believe I have ever had a stove break down - call me fortunate!

This house had a Viking gas stovetop and a Viking electric oven when we bought it. I spilled some cleaner on the cooktop and it got under the top and put out all it took to lite the stove. I could NOT find anyone who dealt with Viking at the time, so I bought another way cheaper cooktop. Lately, I had the oven worked on and the guy was easy to find this time and told me he could have fixed my cooktop. I wanted to cry. It was much nicer than what I have now which is easily scratched. BOOOO There was NO elegance here today as I cleaned all the floors from the last 3 windstorms and now I just heard another one is coming Sunday. I want to cry. They have been horrid inside and outside. PS-I am brokenhearted about the magazine ending.
